Junes Runner of the month: Nigel Etches
Congratulations to Nigel Etches for earning our runner of the month for June
We are Nigel's first running club and he has got stuck into training and in return has ran not just one, but two, lifetime bests at the age of 66 years young!
He ran 21:14 at the beginning of the month, lowering that time again last weekend to 21:04 over 5K at Sherwood Pines parkrun . That gets him comfortably inside the top 100 in the UK for his age group! He used to be a competitive footballer, we think Nigel will not do too bad at running either and we are looking forward to seeing how he goes at county level competitions, from as early as next month.
Nigel is a popular member of the team & one of the nicest guys you will meet, aptly nicknamed 'the machine' by his training partners for his form at his age.
Nigel is often supported by Pat Etches at ParkRuns and it's been a pleasure to have you both on board as a runner and a supporter.
